COVID-19 UPDATE (MAY 13, 2020) –
Due to COVID-19 classes may be adjusted in accordance with safety protocol and orders within the state of Michigan. This may include but not limited to – the length of class being extended, lectures moved to an online format, delay in clinical, adjusted class times, etc. All enrolled students will be notified if any changes occur within the class. All start dates are starting as planned on the schedule found under the tab class schedule.
COVID-19 UPDATE – (March 23rd)
It is with a very heavy heart that we temporarily close our doors to all in-person training and education at this time.
Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures. We close our doors temporarily knowing that this is for the greater good, that this is for the safety of our employee’s, our students and our community.
As a result of the Governor’s executive order to stay home, Heart to Heart Healthcare Training does not fall under the list of essential businesses. Heart to Heart Healthcare Training has suspended all in-person classes, tests and meetings until April 13th.
At this time, we will continue to hold all classes (online portions only) at both campuses. All classroom lecture will be moved to an online format and students will begin all online coursework on the start date of the class they are enrolled in. This will allow students to complete the required lecture portion and have the ability to finish their class in a quick fashion once the time comes where it is safe to enter laboratory and clinical again. We will schedule laboratory and clinical make-up times during the day, night and weekends to give students the flexibility and urgency to complete them. We will reach out to all students as we near April 13th to re-schedule laboratory, clinical, tests and classes.
We understand the stress this may cause and concern in the delay of finishing your class or completing your national exam. We are just as disappointed to have to close our doors temporarily and to not be able to provide these services to you. Our hearts are hurting through this time, with yours.
Stay home and stay safe, we will all make it through this together.
As an important side note – if any of our students are struggling to provide food or necessities for themselves or their family, please reach out to us and we will do anything we can to assist you in providing food, water and other necessities.
Any questions regarding these changes should be directed to the Director of the school – Katie Fortenberry, RN at kfort@h2hhealth.com.
COVID-19 UPDATE –
Heart to Heart Healthcare Training is committed to providing the most up to date and high-quality training to our students which includes not only lecture, and lab but clinical portions and externships that take place in healthcare facilities throughout our community. We take pride and responsibility in developing and teaching our future allied health workers to safely and properly take care of our community’s loved one’s. As a part of making this commitment we must always put the patient’s safety and health first.
Given the current seriousness of COVID-19, the most susceptible population happens to be the patients in our hospitals and nursing homes that we attend for some of our current courses. Heart to Heart has been working closely with several healthcare facilities in the community and have found it be in the best interest of the patient’s health and safety that we do not attend clinical’s at this time. All of the healthcare facilities we have spoken to thus far, have been placed on a restriction, that at this time aren’t even allowing family members in. This situation is fluid and will remain fluid for the upcoming weeks. We will continue to re-evaluate and do what’s best not only for our students but for our community.
At this time, we will continue to hold all classes at both campuses. Any portion of our courses that can be completed online, will be moved to an online format. Clinicals for our Certified Nurse Assistant program have been suspended at this time; however, lecture and lab will continue. This will allow students to complete the required lecture and lab portions and have the ability to finish the Certified Nurse Assistant class in a quick fashion once the time comes where it is safe to enter clinicals again. We will schedule clinical make-up times during the day, night and weekends to give students the flexibility and urgency to complete them. All Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG and CPR classes will continue as scheduled. Your instructor will reach out to you personally if there are any changes to be made to your program.
Any questions regarding these changes should be directed to the Director of the school – Katie Fortenberry, RN at kfort@h2hhealth.com.
