An EKG Technician are allied health professionals responsible for performing diagnostic tests to assess the patient’s heart rhythm and rate. They ensure proper electrode placement on the patient, record the EKG, prepare the report for the physician, ensure patient comfort and safety, and troubleshoot abnormalities with the recording.
Our EKG Technician class consists of a blended learning experience of both online and in- class. All
lectures will take place through our online classroom, while all of your lab experience will take place in the classroom setting during specific dates/times. The student will have
4 weeks to complete the online learning assignments at their own pace and an additional 4 weeks
to complete the lab portion.
This program prepares the graduate to work as an entry-level EKG Technician in any clinical setting. Our
students will be taught anatomy and physiology, safety, medical terminology, communication,
infection control, EKG basics, equipment, electroe placement, how to read and interpret EKG’s as well as various other information regarding EKG’s. After completion of the program the student may sit for the National Certification Examination for Phlebotomy, which is included in the tuition. Our structured program gives step by step guided instruction so that every student can be successful, whether they have a prior medical education and experience or not.
